Why should an installer recommend a system that integrates both burglar alarm and home automation solutions to a client? What advantages does this offer?
An increasing number of people feel the need to protect their homes, but many are still fearful of the technology or hesitant about the possibility to manage complex systems in a simple way. So when a client asks for a complete system that won’t complicate their life, many of our installers start by considering this. We all have smartphones nowadays and we all know how many things we can do using apps. In 2012, RISCO created an integrated system based on Cloud technology that can be managed using just one simple and intuitive app. When an installer presents proposals to the client, they know they can build the right solution to meet their needs, adapting it depending on the spaces to be managed and the functions required. So by using the app, it is possible to remotely control the alarm system, take action on receiving a push notification, check in live time whether there is suspicious activity near your home, or respond promptly if there is a dangerous situation such as flooding or fire. It is also a useful system for those with pets, or for parents who want to keep in touch with their children. If IP video cameras are installed, people can interact and ask each other how they are for example. In addition to the strictly security related functions, smart home solutions are also available, so heating, lighting, and automatic blinds can all be centrally controlled. This means that every client can build a tailor-made system to suit their needs and have their “own” app that is personalised and can continue to be personalised with new services. In addition, installers can count on a smart home solution that is easy to implement with no need for building work or the overhaul of existing electrical systems, because all the data is managed via the cloud, the most advanced and flexible solution available today.
Data protection is fundamental today, and the GDPR grants installers significant responsibility in this regard. What guarantee do these cloud systems offer to those installing them and those using them?
We are very careful when it comes to data protection, beyond the obligations of the law, and want to offer a system that is not only efficient and immediate, but also reliable. This is why we choose the support of first-rate providers. Since 2014, the RISCO cloud is hosted on the Microsoft Azure platform, which activates innovative services, offers high levels of security, data protection and privacy, and guarantees transparency and scalability, as well as conformity with current legislation and market standards. The importance of the cloud in terms of growing the company and developing its new solutions as a result of R&D investment is confirmed by the fact that the RISCO Group proprietary cloud has received EN 50136-3:2013 certification, becoming an Event Receiving Centre (RCT) that is certified in accordance with European standards and complies with strict requirements regarding performance, redundancy, reliability and stability, as well as physical and logical security. Thanks to the cloud, RISCO ensures cutting-edge levels of security, as well as offering solutions that evolve over time, with the addition of new services and functions to already installed systems, with no need to replace pre-existing infrastructure.
The installer is now an essential link between manufacturer and end client, even after the requested solution has been fitted. What opportunities should installers exploit in the long-term?
The key words are modularity and compatibility. All of our solutions communicate with each other and are managed via the same control unit, offering the client increasing opportunities to complete or boost the security and efficiency of the solution they already have installed at home. The installer can therefore add compatible services, creating a relationship of trust with the client that is long-lasting and “updated”. The conversation with the end user is not just limited to controlling existing systems, but is also a chance to provide information about new opportunities on the market, allowing the client to continuously evaluate the latest technologies based on their needs. We believe this is an important added value that can help our installer to grow professionally and promote a security culture among those who they interact with each day.
You have already confirmed your attendance at SICUREZZA 2021. What does the exhibition represent to you?
Although this year has seen us all forced to properly test out the range of remote services that digitalisation offers, both as private citizens and professionals who have continued to operate in smart working mode, we believe that the unique networking opportunities professional operators can exploit at trade sector exhibitions - or SICUREZZA in particular in our case - cannot be replaced, and are in fact indispensable. For many reasons, not least because visitors are able to see the new solutions we are presenting first-hand, but also learn more about the entire range that RISCO has been offering the market over more than 40 years of business. In addition, SICUREZZA offers all those involved the possibility to be updated as to the main trends on a constantly evolving market, as well as the latest consumer needs. For this reason, we have confirmed our attendance at the 2021 edition, convinced that it will be a fruitful opportunity to meet with all professional installers who want to offer their end users innovation and security guarantees.
