Word to the trade associations: A.I.P.S. is present at Sicurezza

A.I.P.S. is the Italian association that unites and represents companies mainly involved in the installation and maintenance of security equipment and systems. It currently has over 130 member companies. Once again A.I.P.S. supports SICUREZZA, to which it adheres, by recognising it as a further instrument to pursue its targets and guarantees.

Founded in 1998, on the initiative of a group of installers, A.I.P.S. now has over 130 member companies, employing thousands of workers, generating a turnover of over 100 million euro/year and a customer base of over 200,000 installed professional systems.

The member companies intend to guarantee professionalism and reliability in the installation and maintenance of the various systems. Therefore, since 2020, A.I.P.S. has been promoting in Italy an inter-association group that strongly believes in the need to standardise the profession and the skills of operators in the sector.

We talked about it with the president, Paolo Gambuzzi.

With the development of increasingly advanced technologies and the enactment of standards regulating their use, technical skills in the field of security are now crucial for installers. So why are certifications important and where do we currently stand in this regard? Is the single licence project shelved or is the inter-association project still underway?

“Although voluntary and not mandatory, certifications are a significant step forward in responding to the market's need to identify professionals for the installation of security systems and their maintenance.

It was precisely because of the shared willing to promote the culture of certification in security systems that in 2020 A.I.P.S., AIPROS, ANIE Sicurezza, ASSOSICUREZZA, ICMQ b.u. CERSA, IMQ and TÜV ITALIA set up a team that made a proposal to UNI for the development of a technical standard defining the requirements for designers, installers and maintainers of security systems, which then took the form of the draft UNI 1610032 standard.

Therefore, there is still need for a “licence” or a “register” since Ministerial Decree No. 37/08, which identifies the subjects qualified to install electronic security systems (Article 1, paragraph 2, letter B), unfortunately does not provide for an inspection of professional requirements or monitoring activities.

The last few editions of the SICUREZZA trade fair have provided us with a privileged stage to introduce industry professionals to our activities in this field, and this year A.I.P.S. will once again be present at SICUREZZA to report on the latest developments”.
