MIBA Levante is launched in Bari

MIBA Levante, a spin-off dedicated to the market and operators of Southern Italy, will be held in even years, alternating with the international event at Fiera Milano.

With the aim of meeting the market’s needs and offering operators in Southern Italy a business, discussion and training event on their front doorstep, Fiera Milano in collaboration with Pentastudio has launched MIBA Levante, a spin-off of MIBA which will be held in Bari, at Fiera del Levante, in November 2026.

In even years, MIBA Levante will alternate with the Milanese event, offering a format that will shadow that of MIBA, once again bringing together the markets of vertical and horizontal mobility, security, construction and technological integration. An integrated proposal aimed at showcasing materials, solutions, products, systems and technologies capable of creating buildings that meet modern standards of sustainability, efficiency, comfort, functionality, safety and accessibility.

The event will be a trait-d'union between the two editions of MIBA, and in the years in which the event is not held at Fiera Milano, it will offer attendees a further opportunity to find their bearings in the complex scenario of the twin-transition, proposing skills, solutions and effective technologies for urban redevelopment and the energy and digital transition of the Italian building heritage.

The decision to create MIBA Levante was anticipated by the seminar The double digital and energy transition of the Italian building heritage organised by Fiera Milano and Pentastudio on 14 November during SBE Levante, the “twin” event of Smart Building Expo that has already been held in Bari for two years.

The seminar, thanks to an analysis of the current scenario by the Politecnico di Bari and The Ambrosetti, highlighted the urgency of raising awareness and taking action to realise the objectives of the EPBD IV, the green home directive, which imposes the reduction of emissions in just a few years.

An enormous potential for all sectors that will be involved in particular in the restructuring initiatives: if producing a zero-emission building is now the norm, tackling what already exists is more complex, but it is also a very important opportunity. We are talking about 9 million buildings, which on the one hand open up countless opportunities for the construction market and for all the others involved (plants, security, cyber security, mobility). On the other hand, they can become the concrete tool to finally make the leap from the city to the smart city, where each building becomes a supplier of high value-added services (entertainment, security, accessibility, e-health, to name but a few).

The building is in fact the heart of the city, it interacts with it and has an impact on it. Today, building and redevelopment cannot ignore a holistic approach, driven by a common objective: the comfort of the future inhabitant. The same approach that is a grounding value of MIBA and MIBA Levante.
