Revolution and tailor-made solutions for home security

The concept of housing develops and evolves according to the needs of those who live in it. Nowadays, the 'home' is intended to be a comfortable space, but also a technological, energy-efficient and, above all, safe space. In a steadily growing home automation market, now on the upswing - with investments amounting to 187.8 billion by 2028 and a sustained growth rate of +15.2% (ResearchAndMarkets, July 2022) – Smart Security appears to be a driving force as of 2023 onwards.

Security systems are now increasingly integrated with home automation solutions, a trend that will continue this year and in those to come, as interconnection and interoperability are more consistently demanded by users.

In fact, a survey conducted by Omdia (August 2022), an independent analysis body specialised in the international technology ecosystem, which examines the global smart home market, indicates a remarkable increase in the sector, which, despite some slowdown in 2022 due to the critical geopolitical situation, has exceeded the two billion mark for smart devices in use and expects a strong and further increase from 2023 onwards.

Given pressing issues such as energy saving and sustainability, this year's home automation market will undoubtedly be driven by energy management solutions, but there are very good prospects for the Security sector. As the study by ResearchAndMarkets, a leading international market research company, confirms, by 2028 a large part of the domestic automation market increase will be driven precisely by the need for intelligent management of Security systems as well - 187.8 billion dollars by 2028, with an annual rate of +15.2%.

Nevertheless, in Italy the so-called “safety & security bonus”, part of the stimulus package known as the “renovation bonus” for home improvements, is also confirmed for 2023. The contribution, extended until the end of 2024, is a 50% tax deduction (on a maximum sum of € 96,000) specifically for expenses for the installation of active and passive home security systems.

In short, the year leading up to SICUREZZA 2023 is already full of excellent prospects.
