On line training: the lockdown as opportunity

They represent the added value of technological progress. Without the advice of an installation technician or his ability to understand your needs, solutions customised to specific applications would be impossible. But to keep up with a continually changing market, characterised by increasing digitalisation, the technician must invest in continuous training, so that he can offer the best solutions for any application and make the most of the potential of new products.

This is why, over the last few weeks, during which work came to a forced standstill, many companies, well aware of the value represented by competent technicians aware of new developments in the market, have invested in training their staff, thus preparing them to return to work with the tools they require as fully-fledged professionals.

INIM, for instance, provided online courses for its installation technicians during the lockdown, encouraging them to invest in their professionalism so that they would be better prepared than ever for the return to work. In doing so, they turned the lockdown into an opportunity for learning about new products and services. The initiative had a very positive response, demonstrating the eagerness of their technicians to learn, given the large number of participants.

“At this time, when our working lives have been turned upside down and the market has come to a standstill, it seemed only natural that we should invest our time - and that of our technicians - in training. Anyone who follows us knows that we are always running professional training courses, like the INIM Academy for technical, regulatory and sales training. It was therefore very natural for us to set up these online webinars,” says Baldovino Ruggieri, CEO of INIM Electronics.

“The webinars made available our very best know-how in assisting and training participants in intrusion prevention, fire detection and emergency lighting technologies. INIM's management and the company's owners also took part in the webinars to discuss the current situation and identify together new ways of working in these new, high unpredictable conditions. At a time like this it's important to come together as a team and help each other out. The webinars were our way of doing so. We ran more than 50 courses in Italian and 20 in English for over 12,000 participants. We also launched a “webinar rewards” programme to thank participants who spent their time in training with us. All participants also received a certificate of participation. I would like to personally thank the entire INIM team for their motivation and the commitment, competency and professionalism they put into organising these online course, despite the difficulties of the time. All of us, manufacturers, installation technicians, distributors, designers are now ready to start working again - even more than better trained, we've learned that we're stronger when we work together. #uniticelafacciamo (together we can do it).”
