One of the most strategic hubs of the Biofarma group is located in the heart of Friuli, in Mereto di Tomba (Udine). A global player in the health care sector, it is a point of reference for the development and third-party production of food supplements, medical devices, probiotic-based drugs and cosmetics. In this cutting-edge context, a focus on security, operational efficiency and process digitalisation is a crucial factor. To meet these needs, Biofarma Group chose Bluedigit Informatica and Hikvision solutions for a technological upgrade project that brought concrete and tangible benefits in terms of control, optimisation and scalability.
The challenge: Security and centralised control
With over 1,500 employees and a turnover of 436 million euros, Biofarma operates in a logic of continuous growth. The Mereto di Tomba site, also home to the headquarters, spans over 4,000 m2 and includes a warehouse with 30,000 pallet spaces. Here there are two production plants (Bio 1 and Bio 2), already equipped with video surveillance systems. However, there was a need to integrate and centralise monitoring, allowing real-time management from a single location. At the same time, shift coordination was proving a critical issue for HR and department heads, who were looking for intuitive, scalable and digitalised solutions.
The solution: an integrated and intelligent platform
Thanks to Bluedigit Group's twenty-year expertise and Hikvision technology, an integrated system capable of effectively responding to Biofarma's needs was created. The Hik-Central Professional software platform became the beating heart of the new security ecosystem, allowing Biofarma to:
On the hardware level, the installation of DS-K2602T gate controllers and DS-K1104MK readers enhanced the access control in place. The integrated ACS module made advanced management of attendance and shifts possible, streamlining workflows and ensuring consistency between access levels, user codes, and working hours.
The results: efficiency, control and business continuity
The new system has enabled a significant reduction in operational complexity. HR and department managers can now manage accesses and attendances quickly and accurately. The alerts introduced to support operators further improve the reliability of the system, reporting anomalies in the data entered and helping to always keep activities under control.
Furthermore, the intuitive nature of the interfaces – also available in app form – has favoured their immediate adoption by all stakeholders, from employees to security personnel.
