Among the factors that have had the greatest impact on the increase in the adoption of security systems we can include the rapid development of smart cities, the technological cutting edge of the sector, which offers increasingly effective solutions, and the growth in the number of infrastructures, which determines an increase in demand for safety and security systems, such as access control and video surveillance for real-time monitoring.

In the security sector, the potential of technologies, both hardware and software, is now very high, and goes far beyond surveillance and crime prevention. Just think of how video analytics, i.e. the observation and analysis of events, places and people through the verification of images collected by video cameras, can, for example, revolutionize traffic management in smart cities or provide early warning of natural disasters .

To fully enjoy it, however, it is necessary to adopt a systemic approach in which the technical skills, which guarantee support for decisions and human intervention, are integrated into an updated regulatory framework with defined rules, operating methods and procedures, in order to promote a specific knowledge of the needs and possible critical issues that end users, i.e. local administrations, may encounter in guaranteeing safety for their citizens. With the guide "Video surveillance of the territory and public environments" ANIE, together with ANCI, wants to promote a virtuous path to encourage a culture of security that affects both supply and demand.

From this perspective, this Guide is configured as the elective tool for codifying the know-how of the sector, enhancing the different professional skills that compose it and activating a flow of shared competence and knowledge, which unites the entire supply chain. From risk analysis to planning up to supervisory intervention; systematizing the potential of technologies, with precise rules, in particular regarding cybersecurity and privacy, and offering a reference for structuring and planning uniform specifications for the processes.

The technologies represented by the Anie Federation and, specifically, by Anie Sicurezza are enabling to guarantee the development of the four "S" that define a smart city: safety, health, services and sustainability. The collaboration with ANCI represents one of the fundamental points in our program of activities. Starting from skills to create sector and supply chain synergies certainly contributes to raising the level of quality of life in our urban centres.

The issue of urban safety plays a fundamental role in local public policies. Over time, the topic has taken on ever greater importance for citizens, and is therefore now one of the priorities relating to city government. The collaboration between Anci and Anie allows Assiv to put its skills at the service of municipalities to trace integration paths between technologies and people and between public and private for a single common goal, the safety of citizens.
